What is the National Film Society and how did it get started?
The National Film Society is a production company we formed in 2011 to start making online video content. We release a new brainy, offbeat and ridiculously good-looking episode every Tuesday on our YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/nationalfilmsociety), which is part of PBS Digital Studios. Since our backgrounds are in filmmaking, we mainly focus on movies, filmmaking and making it in Hollywood.
How did the two of you meet each other?
Although people think we’ve known each other for a long time, we only met two and a half years ago at the 2010 LA Asian Pacific Film Festival. During that first encounter, we realized that we shared a similar interest in new media and using online tools to connect with audiences.
