What’s the first thing you do when you get out of bed? Last thing you do before you go to bed?
I make the bed! I know, it’s a sickness. Last thing…I brush my teeth.
Do you speak any other languages? Is the use of slang acceptable when writing a children’s book?
I’m conversant but not fluent in both French and Cantonese. And I think slang is acceptable if it serves a purpose: if you’re trying to faithfully capture the dialog and banter between children, for example. They use a lot of slang!
When you were growing up what kind of books did you read? What are you reading today?
I’ve always been an avid reader, and from a young age my reading choices have been eclectic. Nowadays, I always have one book of fiction and one of non-fiction on the go. The non-fiction, as you may imagine, is often a biography.
