This A-Profiler we bring you Justin Chon, a young face who is relatively new to acting. He's been most recognizable as Tony Lee on the Nickelodeon series "Just Jordan" but he is also expanding into movies with the release of Crossing Over later this year starring with Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Ray Liota and Ashley Judd. Though he tells us he is rarely recognized, we think Chon's star is on the rise and he's one young performer to keep in focus.

Justin Chon Photo by Russell BaerWith just 2 years of experience in the entertainment industry, you've managed to make quite a splash on Nickelodeon's "Just Jordan" as Tony Lee, the best friend of the lead character, Jordan. Have you been surprised by the sudden recognition and success?
Yes, actually I thought it would take me longer to make headway in the industry. I really give credit to all the training I got before I started auditioning.

Your father is a well-known television and film actor while your mother is an accomplished pianist. Seems you were destined to be an entertainer. Did your parents groom you for the entertainment industry or did they have different ideas of what they wanted you to do? Are they supportive of your career now?
They never had any expectations of what they wanted to be. They just wanted me to be happy. The only concern they had with acting was having a hard time making money. They are extremely supportive of my career and encourage me to take it further.

As a young Asian American actor, do you feel you are breaking down stereotyped images about Asian Americans?
I personally do think I am breaking down many stereotypes through the business. I've played many characters that don't fit the normal mold of hollywood.

What are some of the current projects you are working on and what can we expect to see you in coming soon?
I'm shooting another season of Just Jordan currently. I just finished shooting a movie along side Harrison Ford, Sean Penn, Ashley Judd, and Ray Liotta, and I have a movie coming out called Gary the Tennis Coach starring Sean William Scott and Randy Quaid.

Do you get recognized often by fans? What's the craziest thing a fan has done to get your attention?
Barely anyone ever recognizes me. The craziest thing anyone has ever done was look at me between the shelves at blockbuster and took pictures through the little spaces between the movie shelves.

I've heard you are interested in producing in the future. Where would you like to see yourself in a year, 3 years, and 5 years from now?
3 years from now I would like to produce some movies that I would be a part of. 5 years from now I would like to only act in projects that completely interest me without any monetary reasons attached.

When you have some time away from acting, what do you enjoy doing?
I really just like relaxing at home. I play guitar and surf as well.

What advice do you have for young actors/actresses out there?
Learn how to act. Don't make becoming famous your number one goal.
